2020 Mass Diary Now Open for Bookings

We now have the Diary for next year’s Mass Intentions. Always a joy and a privilege to say Mass for you, so do please get those special dates in as soon as possible. We operate a strict ‘first come, first served policy’!

Our Mission Together Appeal Minor Works

Today, we are publishing an A4 Flyer bringing everyone up to date with our Minor Works List: what we have done so far, what is now in the pipeline, and what we’d like your views on. Do please take one, and don’t hesitate to let us know your opinion: items we’d love to have, but which would stretch our normal Budget.

Sponsored Walk for Alzheimer’s Charity

On 20th July Ruth Tierney and her daughters, Clare and Madeleine, are taking part in a 26-mile hike in the Lake District organised by the Alzheimer's Society. They are doing the hike in memory of Ruth's mother, Gill. Ruth will be at the back of church after each Mass TODAY, Sunday 14th July if you would like to sponsor them.  Anyone interested in hiking themselves, either the full 26 miles or the 13-mile option? Deadline for enrolling is 5th July. More information on  www.alzheimers.org.uk or Ruth, 07790-133-837.

You never laugh at my jokes…

And then when I say something serious you are all rolling in the aisles! I was deadly serious last week: the train ride from Crewe to Chester on a sunny Summer evening is as lovely as any you will see in England. I sometimes think I’m totally wasted on you lot…

Isabel and Tobi’s Wedding in Spain 6th July

A very joyful wedding indeed last Saturday in the ferocious heat of a Spanish July. It was a gloriously trilingual affair (Spanish, German and English), but it’s my proudest boast that I can murder any language you choose to name. The taxi was revving up outside the church as the wedding finished, to whisk me back to the airport, so that I could be ready, fresh and lovely for Sunday Morning. Well, ready anyway.

Next Year’s Parish Diary Taking Shape…

Slightly earlier Mass time on Wednesday as I want to be on a Train at 2.00 pm to pop over to Hull for my great friend Fr William’s Silver Jubilee. (He’s the Chaplain at Hull University). It’s Refreshments after Mass that day, so everyone warmly invited to join us in the Dining Room after Mass. That lunchtime, we are also welcoming the Cheshire Church Leaders for their regular bi-monthly Meeting which they often hold here.

Photo of the Week: Virgin of Monserrat

Another lovely photo from Frances Mathias, the Candle Shrine from this extraordinary church near Barcelona. (In Spain, dear Love Island girls, not Italy. Nor Rome. Give me strength...)
