Parish events

Bishop Mark's visitation: March 24th / 25th

A very large part of every Visitation is the Visitation Return the Parish has to compile in advance, setting out how it would see itself today, and where it wishes to go in the future. We started work on this at the Parish Council on Tuesday, and will be working hard on it over the next two weeks. It's an 11-page Document, and the final page asks, "What is your assessment of the present state of the Life and Mission of the Parish?" All contributions very welcome from all Parishioners!

Parking next door

Because someone here at Mass a few weeks ago is taking legal action against the Clamping Firm, all permission for us to use that site on Sunday Morning has been withdrawn. We may not park there AT ANY TIME. If we do so, we will be clamped.

Catholic Enquiry Course

Next Meeting on Monday 27th February. 7.00 pm.

Rebecca Coriam

Mike and Anne have been campaigning tirelessly since Rebecca's disappearance from a cruise liner off the coast of Mexico in March last year, both for news of her and for the wider issues raised by her case. Open Meeting on Thursday 23rd Feb at 8.00 pm in the Parish House for all those interested in becoming involved.

First Holy Communion

Parish Group and their parents meet on Thursday 23rd February at 6.30 pm in the House. The Commentary Mass for all our youngsters and parents is in church on Thursday 8th March at 6pm.

New holy water container and lids

Two problems, one solution! The lid on the Font has been cracking for some time, and also weighs a ton! Hugh Miller, our great Woodworking Consultant, advised us it was beyond repair. So, new Font Lid needed! At the same time, we've never had a suitable Holy Water container, from which all of you who like Holy Water at home can help yourselves. No such containers readily available, so we've had a new one specially made by Willie Carter, the great Potter down at Farndon, with matching lids, both featuring the church's name and date, and with specially made matching Crosses, interwoven stalks of wheat. We hope you like the finished result!

St Clare's social - Saturday 3rd March

St Clare's Parish invites you to a folk dance held at Lache Community Centre, Hawthorne Road, Lache on Sat 3rd March at 7.30 (after 6.00 pm Mass). Guests are invited to bring a plate to share (savoury or sweet) and soft drinks if they wish. Tickets are £5 per adult, children are Free.
