TIDYING UP THE CHURCH
Thanks to the army of volunteers who worked so hard on Monday to tidy everything up, especially the area behind the Screen and the High Altar. Do go and have a look today and see what a wonderful job they’ve done. The Table Tennis table has found a good home, I’m glad to say. One of the treasures we found at the back of the altar was the original oak Font Cover, now on display in front of the Screen. Any ideas how it could be used? And a beautiful but damaged statue of Our Lady of Lourdes (hands need replacing) available to a good home. Please see me if interested. Plus two nice rolls of under-felt under the Newspaper Table: any use to anyone for a small donation to the church?
HOUSE ALARM ROTA
Please note that while I’m away – Monday August 18th to Friday August 29th - (excluding the weekend when the Mission Priest is here) the House Alarm will be on from about 7.30 pm till about 9.00 the following morning. You have been warned!
PARISH WHEELCHAIRS
Many thanks to the two parishioners who donated Wheelchairs, and to the third parishioner who kindly donated money to the SVP for buying another one.
CLEANING CHURCH TOILET
There’s a supply of wipes & paper towels if we could try to keep it as clean as possible, and leave it in the state we’d like to find it! Thanks, everyone, for this.
HOUSE AND CHURCH REPAIRS
Gordon’s been busy on lots of jobs around the place:
* Repainting the three outside doors;
* Fixing the sticky door by the organ;
* Mending the Newsletter Frame on the Door;
* Making a new Newsletters Box underneath;
* Fixing carpet and Noticeboard in the Office;
* Mending the broken drawer in the kitchen.
He’s done lots of other small jobs as well. Kneelers still be done, then on with the Day Chapel. I’m pleased we’ve now a box for Newsletters on the Main Door so that folk can pick up a Newsletter any time.
