St Werburgh's Roman Catholic Parish, Chester

Our housebound friends enjoy a January Christmas Lunch

On Saturday 12th January St Werburgh’s SVP entertained the lonely and housebound members of our community to an excellent Christmas lunch at St Werburgh and St Columba's Primary School.  We were delighted that Fr Paul was also able to support the event in his busy Saturday schedule.

After a delicious meal of roast turkey with all the trimmings and trifle, prepared by David the school chef and his assistant Barbara, each of the guests enjoyed a prize from the free raffle.

Members of the school 'Mini Vinnies' then entertained us all with carols, led and encouraged by Mrs Trish Ebrell, before we all joined in a sing-song of traditional songs accompanied by Bernard and Syd.

Well done and thanks to all concerned with this annual event and in particular thanks to our Parish Community whose generosity made this event possible.
