We have so many exciting events coming up over the next couple of months for which we are going to need Stewards – just people to be in church or house to keep an eye on things. I’ve never been confident leaving the church open when there’s no-one in: probably wrong on my part, and I should have had more nerve. But it’s such a precious building I would never forgive myself if anything happened. So-oooo… History Week (1st – 8th June), Summer Fete (21st June), Open Week of Faith (13th – 20th July). Today there’s a giant Sign-Up List for everyone to put their name down for all these events. The History Week list is already open, every afternoon Sunday 1st June to Sunday 8th June, two Stewards needed each day. Parish Fete, Saturday 21st June, 12.00 to 3.00 pm: the whole church, house and garden will be open, so we do need a good team to keep an eye on everything. Then we have an exciting Week of Faith, Monday 14th July - Friday 18th, plus the weekends either side, church open 1.00-7.00 pm. Do please sign up – it’s also a great way to meet other parishioners.
As part of this 2025 Jubilee Year, we are organising two day trips to our own Cathedral in Shrewsbury, there and back by train (a beautiful one-hour ride from Chester). 25 places on each trip, Tuesday 24th June and Thursday 31st July. Please sign up on the list at the back of church: I’m offering this first to our own folk, then to other Chester Parishes. First come, first served!
Usual three Masses: 7.30 am, 12.15 pm and 7.30 pm (with choir and hymns). You must, of course…
Remember our Five-Point Fire Drill?
This year’s programme came to a superb climax last Saturday and the one before with two beautiful FHC Masses. Enormous thanks to Louise and her team for their excellent preparation of the Parish Group and to Mrs Oates and her team for their equally impressive Primary School work. Thanks to Tom and the Choir for accompanying each Mass, and for all the parents and family members who came along to support their youngsters. All that remains for this year’s group is their lovely Thanksgiving Mass on Sunday 8th June at 10.45. Now for next year… For children not attending our Catholic Primary School in Year Three or above in the next school year, there will be an introductory meeting for parents in October, and our classes will begin in November. First Forgiveness takes place in January and First Holy Communions in May. The closing date for applications is Monday 1st September. Names are coming in already: email is our preferred method. Thank you!
A rota will be published each month, so do please sign up in advance if you would like to read.
Following the great success of our first gathering last month, we’re excited to invite all young adults (18+) to our next meetup in the Day Chapel. Come along for an evening of connection, conversation, community and prayer. Whether you came last time or are joining for the first time, you’re very welcome!

Huge thanks to everyone.
Raffle tickets will be on sale to support the Primary School next two Sundays (1st and 8th June) at the back of church between Morning Masses. Thanks, everyone!
