Hospice Fundraising: Two-Thirds of the Way There!

This week another £521 came in, which means our total to date is £9,895.65 which is an extraordinary 66% !! 

 St Werburgh’s “Open Week of Faith”: 13th-20th July 

Request for Volunteer Welcomers: we plan to have the church open throughout the afternoons of that week (1-7pm Monday-Friday; 2-4pm at the weekends). There will be displays around the church and a reflective booklet linked to these for visitors to engage with. We will need at least two welcomers in church at all of these times. Please sign up to help on sheet at the back of church.

We were thoroughly entertained by Tony Proctor’s continuing and fascinating saga about the family who once owned his beloved pocket watch. The extensive research you have done, Tony, must represent material for a book.  Thank you! All of you who read the books and saw the films must come to WW this coming week to hear Fr Paul recount his memories of “Just William” and the antics of William and his pals.

St Werburgh’s Pilgrimage to Holywell: 28/29 June

After an extraordinary amount of work and planning, our Pilgrims set off next Saturday morning, 28th, on the first leg of their Pilgrimage to the holy shrine at Holywell. They depart after a little service here in church at 9.00 am. On the first day they walk to Flint. On Sunday, they have a special Mass here at 8.00 am in the Day Chapel before travelling back by train to Flint and walking the second leg, to Holywell. This is a superb part of our 150th Celebrations, and we cannot thank the organisers enough for making it possible. Please pray for them, as they will pray for us.

Safeguarding Training

7.00 Monday 22nd September. From Liz and Chris, our Diocesan Reps. It is important that all volunteers who work with Children and Vulnerable Adults, who have not attended previous training in January and May, attend this training.

Holy Reunion Mass at Catholic High School

All the children who have recently made their FHC or are about to receive this sacrament are invited to celebrate Mass followed by light refreshments at the Catholic High School on Wednesday 25th June 6.00 pm. Along the canal to the Cheshire Cat at Christleton. A gentle stroll. (“You said that last time, and it turned into a 7½ mile hike!”). All welcome.
