What we do
Managing parish finances is a key responsibility, which involves not only the day to day management and tracking of monies in and out of the parish but also working at all times to keep a healthy budget surplus throughout the year. This surplus will ensure that the vital purpose of maintenance and upkeep of our beautiful Grade II Listed Church is possible, so that we can hand it on in fine condition to the generations to come.
To this end we have an active Parish Finance Committee. The Committee is responsible for monitoring all income and expenditure and drawing up our Annual Financial Report to the Diocese and to the Parish. We aim for full transparency always: all figures are published and regular reports made to Parish Council. All questions are answered as fully as we can.
The day to day financial management is carried out via the use of a Diocesan Financial Management System, OPAS, from which all the necessary summary reports can be drawn.
Finance Committee
The current Finance Committee comprises Fr Paul, Denise Jones, Paula Wszolek and Marian McCarthy.
Denise is very experienced in running the finance system and actively operates the OPAS system for the Parish.
Denise also represents Finance on the Parish Council.
The Committee is kept relatively small. From time to time Fr Paul will seek out potential new members of the Committee Membership by personal approach.
