First marriage in a Catholic Chapel in Chester since the Reformation

Catholic Chapel, Queen Street registered for solemnising marriages.

The following notification appeared in the Chester Chronicle of 19 January 1838, Page 2 Col 3.

A week later, St Werburgh’s Marriage Registers, 1827–1856, Page 17, recorded the marriage of Arthur Agnew and Letty Hughes on 22 January 1838.
