A Tribute to Fr Paul Shaw

Parish Priest of St Werburgh’s, Chester from September 2006 to September 2025

Father Paul is a man who lives and loves the Gospel of Christ and he has shown through his life and ministry the meaning of the Eight Beatitudes.

A Man of God and a Man of the People: an understanding and compassionate Priest; an eloquent and humorous Preacher; a gifted Teacher and a specially caring Human Being.

Fr Paul, for nearly twenty years St Werburgh’s has had the privilege of having you as our Parish Priest and we ‘Werbies’ owe you an immense debt of gratitude.

You have touched more lives in our ‘Werbie Family’ and the wider community than you will ever know.

We thank you Fr Paul for all you have done for us in so many different ways - always putting others before yourself.

We thank you for bringing joy to our faith and your tireless, unstinting service and devotion to our Parish Community.

You have enriched our faith, warmed our hearts and left us with a wonderful legacy of Love, Unity and Service.

Father Paul -  THANK YOU - we will be forever grateful.
