Highlight from the High: Open Evening on Thursday

The Catholic High School, Chester, Open Evening. Thursday 21st September 6.00 -8.00 pm. Everyone welcome! No need to book an appointment, just come along, we would love to see you there.

 

Marriage Prep and Confessions Next Saturday

23rd September, 10.30 to 4.30 pm. So, earlier Confessions on that day, 9.30 – 10.30 am.

 

CathSoc Programme Starts Next Sunday 24th  Sept

Welcome to all our Students, new and old! CathSoc starts up again next Sunday with a Quiz Evening, so do come and join us, after Sunday Evening Mass, 7.00 pm onwards. And if you’re new to Chester, do make sure you leave us your contact details today.

Chester Male Voice Choir Autumn Concert

30th September 2023; 7.30 pm. Chester Town Hall

Concert by the Advent Singers at St Werburgh’s with Organ and Vocal Solos – “A Musical Journey Round  the World” – Conductor Stewart Smith, Organist Henry Smith – Friday 13th October 7.30 pm.

 

Friday 10th November 7.45 pm at St Werburgh’s  'Music for a Remembrance and Reflection'

Chester Cathedral Nave Choir will be singing a concert of Remembrance-themed and reflective music. Featuring music by Thomas Weelkes and William Byrd (in the 400th anniversary year of their deaths), and others.

 

Parish Renewal  September Focus on Youth

We ask all our young people of school age to take home a flyer as you leave church.

You are invited to take part in an art competition and also to complete a questionnaire. We want to hear from you! Launch Meeting for Youth Volunteers is Wednesday 20th September at 7.00 pm.

 

St Werburgh’s Parish History Group

Meeting for anyone interested in joining/helping the group will be held on Monday 25th  Sep at 6.00 pm at St. Werburgh’s. This includes those who have already stated that they would like to join and those who have not yet done so. If you would like to join/help us, but cannot make this meeting, please contact cheshire.historian@outlook.com

 

SVP Sponsored Walk: Sunday 8th October

To raise funds for our Holiday Home. We start from the Catholic High School at 1.00 pm (parking available) and have a choice of a short 2.3 miles or a longer 3.7 miles. For more information, contact Marco on bububaba05@icloud.com  

 

Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies

Christleton Summer Teas

Churches Together in Christleton organise Summer Teas in the Methodist Chapel from June to September. The last one this year is Sunday 24th September  and is being hosted by St Werburgh’s. If anyone is able to help on the day or make a cake beforehand, please give Anne a ring on 313409.

Day Chapel Refurbishment

A meeting for Day Chapel refurbishment  will happen shortly. In the meantime ,we would like to do a mini makeover and make it into a welcoming space. Volunteers to help with a one off clean please sign up at the back of Church .

Catholic Enquiry Course 2023-24

Another of our very popular and successful Courses will be launched in the autumn, ten sessions, one a fortnight, from October round to Lent, with Easter the moment that those who would like to become full Catholics can do so. Launch Meeting is Monday 9th October at 7.00 pm. Do please get in touch if you’d like a chat about the course and what it entails. Please draw this notice to the attention of anyone you know who you think might be interested.
