Marian Holy Hour This Pentecost Afternoon

On Pentecost Sunday, the Holy Spirit descended on Our Lady and the Apostles, gathered together in the Upper Room. This afternoon at 3.00 pm, let’s spend an hour pondering that Mystery.

Eileen Doran Funeral Thursday 31st May

Everyone knew Eileen and Jean, always at 9.00 Mass together and sharing a house for so many years. You might have thought they were sisters! Sadly, they have not been in the best of health recently, and Eileen went Home to the Lord last week. She hardly has a family member in the world – we were her family. I’m sure many of us would want to be there for her Requiem Mass on 31st May. Time tbc. May she rest in peace.

Congratulations to our Primary School!

Their Year 6 football team, 7 aside, won the National League Trust Under 11’s Cup at Wembley Stadium last Saturday. They had progressed through local and regional competitions, winning the semi-final in Bradford, and going on to represent the North against a primary from Dartford at Wembley. Coached by Year 6 teacher Matt Coaker with support from Chester City FC. Well done, team!

Slight change of programme: Catherine is coming later in the series, and for June we welcome our good friend Andrew Wyatt from the Cathedral for what will be a sparkling Organ Recital.

Our coach departs from the lay-by outside St. John’s Church, next to the Amphitheatre, at 8.45 prompt. We hope to be back by 5.00 pm.
