All Saints and All Souls

Good to see so many of you at all our Masses on those two days: and an especial thanks to James and the Choir for gracing our All Saints Evening Mass with two beautiful Anthems.

First Meeting Parish 1st Holy Communion Group

For the children not attending our Parish Primary School and their parents, in the Parish House on Thursday 7th November at 6.30 pm.
The children will need their pencil cases and folders or wallets to keep their Preparation Books in. Please could families bring their signed permission slips and labelled photos to the meeting. The First Meeting for all Parents takes place at St Werburgh’s and St Columba’s Primary School, Lightfoot St, Hoole, on Monday 11th November at 7.00 pm.

Liturgy Group Meeting Last Thursday

Very useful planning session for Advent and Christmas. We’d love more of you to come along to these meetings – you’d be very welcome.

October Bible Exhibition

Finished on Thursday. Thank you very much to all our Wolunteer Stewards, and to everyone who lent Bibles. They can be reclaimed from the Sacristy any time the church is open.

Choir Practices for Confirmation

Just a reminder, Choir, that we’re down at St Clare’s for Confirmation Choir Practices on Thursday 7th November and Thursday 14th November, in preparation for the great day on Tuesday 19th November. Choir Practices at 7.30 pm, Confirmation itself at 7.00 pm.

November’s “First Friday” Recital

Bishop Brian Noble R.I.P.

We were all saddened last week to hear news of the death of Bishop Brian, who led our Diocese from 1995 to 2010. He was 83 and had enjoyed a good retirement on the Wirral after battling so amazingly serious ill health earlier in his time with us. His Vigil Mass will be at the Cathedral in Shrewsbury on Tuesday 5th November at 7.00 pm, and his Requiem Mass the following day, Wednesday 6th, at St Michael and All Angels, Woodchurch, Birkenhead, at 12.00 noon. May He Rest in Peace.

Caritas Boxes Collection Last Weekend

Dominique and Nathalie were available at all Masses on 26th / 27th October to collect the contents of your Caritas boxes. Any more out there? Please bring monies in a strong plastic bag or envelope, clearly marked with your name. Opportunity to sign up if you wish to join.

Course on Parenting at the Catholic High School

Another of the popular free courses for parents has started at the High School on Wednesdays at 7.00 pm. It will help you to help your children to develop strong emotional wellbeing and resilience. See a little more about the course. Like all our courses it's free to parents. The course will run over 5 weeks with a break for half term in the middle and is suitable for parents of children aged 8-18 yrs. Free Sunday Morning Parking in City Road

Charges in City Road will begin at 2.00 pm on Sundays to accommodate those attending morning services. We’re very grateful to our Council for this concession, which will help many local Churches.

SVP Nursing Care Home Remembrance Day Service

Wednesday 13th November at 11.00 am in Grosvenor Gardens Care Home (the old Crawford’s Walk) on Lightfoot Street. The service will be led by Father Paul and all are welcome.
